Odogbo-Ijesa Grammar School qualifies for 2019 Women’s Principal Cup Final

Odogbo-Ijesa Community Grammar School has qualified for the 2019 edition of the female category of the prestigious Principal Cup in Osun State after emerging champions from the Ijesa zone.

The Odogbo-Ijesa girls defeated the Middle and High School of Ilobu in keenly contested zonal finals, played at football pitch of Government College Osogbo last week.

While addressing newsmen after the qualification, the principal of Odogbo-Ijesa Community Grammar School, Mrs. Olukitibi was full of gratitude to the Olodogbo of Odogbo-Ijesa, His Royal Highness Oba Olatunde Oginni for the role played in success story of the school team.

She however, attributed the sterling performance of the school’s team to the interest and concern showed by the sports loving Royal father whom she said took up all responsibilities of the pupils since the commencement of the tournament.

“We want to use this medium to appreciate our father in Odogbo-Ijesa, Kabiyesi Olatunde Oginni who took the girls as his daughters by providing all the football kits needed by the team and shouldered all our logistical needs to excel in this competition.

“We have been training hard so that we can do well in the final because that’s the only way to reciprocate the good gesture of the Royal father that have invested much into renovating the school’s building and developing our sports infrastructures”, the Principal noted.

Meanwhile, the final of the tournament has been scheduled for Wednesday March 6th at the football pitch of Osogbo High School, Osogbo Osun State.
