Ekiti State Police command has paraded 8 suspected armed robbery syndicate who who were involved in murder, cultism and armed robbery in the state.
The Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, Mr. Asuquo Amba, while parading the suspects yesterday at the police headquarters yesterday reiterated the command determination and commitment to enhance robust policing to actualizing the transformation and repositioning the agenda of the Inspector General of Police, Ag. IGP Mohammed A. Adamu.
Asuquo, said that his men were able to arrest one Jimoh Ibrahim Suleiman Mukkaila, a.k.a “M.K”, a member of the supreme “Eiye” confraternity secret cult group in Ado-Ekiti, who was alleged by one Babatunde Ojo, to have been involved in the killing of one 26 year old Sheu Oluwaseun, who was shot dead in front of a beer parlour in Idolofin area of the state capital.
In another robbery case on 28/03/2019, one Fadairo Samuel Oyindamola, a notorious armed robber was arrested in the state capital when his gang members attacked a victim at a barbing saloon and robbed him of five 5 mobile phones and other valuables.
“On 26/04/19, the operatives of the command received a distress call from the resident of a former deputy Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Paul Olatunji Alabi. One Adebayo Adebusuyi, an armed robber was arrested at the scene of the crime while other members of his group took to their heels”
“The arrested suspect made confessional statement to the commission of the crime and indicted other members of his gang” Ekundayo Olatunde, a.k.a “Ekun” was arrested upon a tip off in a criminal hideout along old Emure road, Ise-Ekiti.
Others paraded included Oguntuase Taiwo, a.k.a “Abuta”, Adebayo Adebusuyi, a.k.a “ADE, Ogunmuyite Odunayo, a.k.a “070”.
Among the exhibits recovered from them includes One double barrel gun, One pump Action gun, 1 Pistol loaded with three rounds of live ammunition, two single barrel guns, charms and other dangerous weapons.
According to the C.P. Asuquo Amba, the police command will continue to work within the ambit of the constitution of Nigeria and using community policing concept as a strategy to rid the state of crime and criminality.
Asuquo called for greater cooperation, collaboration and partnership from members of the public by giving useful and timely information to enable the command rid the state of all forms of crime.
The C.P. noted that all the suspected criminals paraded admitted to be involved in committing the crime, adding that investigation is in progress by the command.
