Uromi residents have been warned in a video going viral to henceforth abstain from meat of livestock slaughtered at the township abattoir.

This warning became absolutely necessary owing to the unhygenic condition of the abattoirs in the town which could lead to an imminent outbreak of epidemic in the Esan commercial heartland.

Reports reaching Naija News and Events have it that the sad development was brought to the notice of Esan North East Local Government Chairman, Mr Austine Okoibhole who swiftly went into action and built an ultra-modern slaughter-house at Unuwazi, Uromi with veterinary doctors to ensure animals are routinely inspected, vetted before they are slaughtered for human consumption.

Having commissioned the new abattoir, Mr Austine Okoibhole ordered that workers relocate to the new one but the Duke of Uromi, His Royal Highness, Anslem Eidenojie, countered the order which is being attributed to an alleged running battle between the duo.

Oftentimes, the Duke allegedly exceeds his traditional powers and the bounds of authority by dabbling into local government matters which makes governance pretty difficult for the Chairman of the Esan North East in terms of economic projects designed by the Chairman to enhance the quality of life of his people.
