The People’s Party of Nigeria (PPN) again took a giant stride as it received 114 defectors in Abuja.
The ceremony took place at Double Choice Hotel Conference Hall in jabi, Abuja.
The defectors, who are members of 2 political groups namely ‘Youth Movement For Change’ and ‘The Church Must Vote’ emphasised that they took the decision to join PPN because they are sick and tired of the antics and failure of the ruling party as well as the opposition.
According to the leader of Youth Movement for Change, Omoriyi llaide Omorogiuwa, they look forward to a Nigeria whose leadership landscape will be populated by dynamic, intelligent and people-oriented young men capable of restoring the lost glory of the nation.
While speaking, he said they decided to join forces with PPN to support the governorship bid of Iyoha John Darlington who is the Edo State guber candidate.
He said Iyoha John Darlington is capable of transforming Edo State into a mega city with world-class infrastructure.
Mr. Darlington, while addressing the defectors, said PPN is out to reposition Nigeria and stated that Edo State will be a shiny example to others when he is voted into power.

It’s well you are gathered here today under the auspicies of Youth Movement for Change in the course of our interest and desire to change our political future.
The National Chairman of PPN, Hon Razak Eiyowuawi and the state Chairperson, Amb. Tracy Agol are unavoidably absent here today to attend to other pressing party assignments.
We are all aware of the leaps taken backwards over the years resulting from failed leadership over the years, the consequences which we now suffer today.
Hence it behooves us to go on a sortie as we lead this salvage operation to revitalise the obviously decadent paralysis.
It is pointless under the existing circumstances brooding over past mistakes without taking urgent steps to correct these and plan for tomorrow.
This is why we decided to throw our hats into the ring. There is one particular incident – I mean the daily episode of Mediterranean deaths- that culminated in the historic 2018 Turin Declaration in Italy where major resolutions were adopted by Nigerians of Edo State extraction to change the sad narrative.
Today, we are faced even with greater challenges as the legacies bequeathed to our state by the immediate past Governor have not been sustained by the incumbent government.
We have a date with destiny as the election results will be a significant symbolic victory against the confederacy of Homo Sapiens with over-inflated sense of self-worth and of course a step on the road to full democratic reforms.
All we crave is your active support as we welcome you with open hands to the Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN).
