Unknown gunmen, yesterday, allegedly killed a middle-aged Pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, when his house at Offin, Igbogbo, a suburb of Ikorodu town in Lagos State, was invaded.
Before his killing yesterday morning, the pastor, identified as Victor Kanayo, was in charge of Fingers of God Parish, Igbogbo.
Eyewitnesses said his killers tattooed a human skull on his left arm after killing him and disappeared from the area without trace.
Though details about the incident were still very sketchy at press time, it was gathered that detectives have already arrested some suspects in connection with the crime and they are being questioned with a view to fishing out those that committed the killing.
Lagos State Police Command spokesman, Chike Oti, who confirmed the incident, said the Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, has dispatched a team of crack detectives to unravel those behind the murder and dig into the past of the victim and see if there is a correlation between his past and his fate.
According to him, “the issue of his past before he became a born again Christian is of interest to the Police, because of the human skull tattoo drawn on his left arm. “Investigation is ongoing and findings will be made public as usual by the Commissioner of Police.”
