Edo 2020: PPN de-registration – By Iyoha John Darlington

Dear Comrades,

Our journey to Denis Osadebe Avenue has been circuitous, full of twists, curves and bumps doubtless.

Only yesterday, Nigeria’s electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) listed our former party, the defunct Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN) among the de-registered political parties and gave congent reasons for its de-registration which bordered on inactivity.

This is very unfortunate and it will be a great disservice to our people should we throw in the towel at the expense of our lofty vision and ideals to regenerate our state.

We have embarked on these salvage operations and God willing, there is no going back.

Our people deserve to live better lives and that is why we have been busy going round the state sowing the seedlings of transformation.

About two weeks ago to be precise I proceeded on another tour of our State on this important assignment.

This afforded me the rare opportunity for high-level talks with some political bigwigs across the state to chart a new course for our people.

IJD’s vision to regenerate the state remains sacrosanct; this vision shall be dutifully implemented.

Like I did say in my previous piece, Edo State remains larger than any individual and cannot remain in limbo. We must move forward.

I, therefore, advise our teeming supporters across the state to remain calm as I am almost through with my consultations out of the numerous parties that had extended me invitations before now to fly their parties’ flag in the forthcoming governorship election in our state.

I’ll make a public statement soon in this regard as we hopefully look forward to holding a peaceful election in our state.

With gratitude!

May God bless Edo State!

May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!

Iyoha John Darlington is Edo State Governorship aspirant.
