Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has described the process of his victory at the Supreme Court as the validly elected Governor of Ekiti State as a process of free and fair election in the state.
Fayemi, who is also the new Chairman of the Nigeria Governor’s Forum, NGF, commended the Supreme Court for putting an end the endless governorship election in the state, saying he would now have time to concentrate more on the business of the state.
Governor Fayemi, made the remarks at Government House, immediately he arrived Ekiti State after the double celebration among the party faithful and government officials who came for solidarity visit.
Fayemi, called on his Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, Prof. Olusola Eleka, to join hands with him to develop “Ekiti Party”, to build Ekiti State for the betterment of the people.
According to him, Eleka, is a distinguished Ekiti son, Though, I am not close to him, but with what I have heard and read about him, he is an accomplished Ekiti man. Now that the endless litigation has ended, let all of us come together to build our state together.
Fayemi, who gave glory to God that finally, the election that brought him to office was free, fair and credible and the wish of Ekiti people.
“Let me thank the Supreme Court for putting finality to this endless litigation because distraction is bound to happen when you have endless cases in court”.
He described both his appointment as NGF chairman and his court victory as signals of good things to come for Ekiti people.
“Ekiti is in the eyes of the storm, now my work first is the Governor of Ekiti State and a national role to use to pursue national interest to be the servants of the entire Governor’s in the country.
