Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has condemned the role of the security agencies in the impeachment of Ekiti State Speaker, Hon. Kola Oluwawole, saying it is regrettable.
Governor Fayose while reacting through his Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, the governor said he had done his best to reposition the state and he would leave the office in few days time.
Fayose urged all the stakeholders particularly the legislative arm of the government to put the interest of Ekiti first.
The Governor stated further, “above all, with Kola Oluwawole or Ebenezer Alagbada as speaker, I enjoin them to cooperate with the incoming administration in the overall interest of our people”, he stated.
But, reacting to the development, the impeached speaker, Hon. Kola Olwuwawole, says, he still remain the speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly.
He said the illegal impeachment did not follow the 18 members majority of the House of assembly as stated in the standing order of the state assembly.
He debunked the allegation of missing N60 million taken away from the house of assembly’s account, describing it as false and not true.
