Many new faces are springing up in the Yoruba sector of Nollywood and they are adding spices and attitude to the landscape in ways hardly seen before. One of such new faces is Adebimpe Oyebade, a new talent, breaking new grounds and redefining style and concept of self love.
This dark-skinned beauty, who knows her onions when it comes to role interpretation, maintained that she has never been s*xually harassed by any producer in exchange of a role.
“No, I never had to go through any form of s*xual harassment and all that,” she told Inside Nollywood.
“Maybe because of how I started, through auditions. I got my first acting gig in December 2016 in ‘Agbedemeji’ (Crossroad) produced by Yomi Fabiyi, directed by Abbey Lanre.
“And it hasn’t been easy like most people think, but like every other profession, ours has it’s own pros and cons. I’m not complaining, because every stress and hardwork has it’s own advantage. I believe success comes only through hardwork and perseverance.
“It was harder when I started as I didn’t have anyone, but God. I also had people who believed in me because of my performance in my first movie. They were surprised a greenhorn could take such challenging role like that, so many actors, directors, producers were impressed . So, things are much easier now because I have so many mentors, whom I lean on for advice and direction. I’m glad I’m on the right path,”
Speaking about th future, Adebimpe, who is the last child of the family of 5, from Ijero Ekiti, Ekiti State said she has plans of opening a movie and modeling school.
“I’m an entrepreneur. I already have my own brand “Moluxury”. My future plans, however, is to work with corporate partners who will help in opening my own equipped movie school where youngsters can learn all aspects of filmmaking and also a modelling agency where aspiring models can achieve their dreams,” Adebimpe said.
