Paul Pogba has revealed he’s gagged himself from speaking about the strain of working with Jose Mourinho.
In a clear reference to troubled relationship with the Manchester United boss Pogba said: “There are things I can say and there are things that I cannot say otherwise I will get fined.”
Pogba’s admission came after his towering performance in the 2-1 win over Leicester at Old Trafford in United’s opening match of the new Premier League season.
And he knows if he lifted the lid on his uneasy alliance with Mourinho in public he’d be hammered with a club fine.
The French World Cup winner was given the captain’s armband with designated skipper Antonio Valencia still out injured.
Just four days after returning to training Pogba scored from the penalty spot to help set up victory and lift the mood around the club after a disappointing pre-season and transfer window.
But he hinted he’s been unhappy at the club with Mourinho frequently sniping at the £89million star.
Added Pogba: “When people trust you and have confidence then you are good in your own head and it’s going to be easier.”
