The suspects, members of a five-man gang, were arrested after a gun duel. Three of them sustained bullet wounds and were taken to the hospital. One is being detained at the Osun State Police Command Headquarters while the remaining one is said to be at large.

Luck ran out of the suspects at Erin-Osun after kidnapping some people in Osogbo and Ogbomoso. They also collected N250,000 and N3 million respectfully from parents of their victims.

After a tip-off, the police swung into action. But while trying to arrest them at Erin-Osun in Irepodun Local Government Area, the kidnappers engaged the police in a fierce gun battle. The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mrs. Folasade Odoro, said the suspects were arrested while on their way for a kidnapping operation.
