Six northern governors hold meeting with President Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday met with six governors from the northern region. The meeting took place at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The governors in attendance were Umaru Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa State), Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai (Kaduna), Yahaya Bello (Kogi), Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano), Ibrahim Geidam (Yobe) and Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar (Bauchi).

The governors also joined President Buhari to observe juma’at prayer at the State House mosque beside the president’s office.

None of them spoke to State House correspondents after the meeting.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, only confirmed that the governors met with the president but did not give details.
